Viet Sand Art Co., Ltd. was established in 2016, with the desire to bring the art of sand sculpture – a fascinating, attractive and famous art of the world, but brand-new to Vietnamese people.
The idea of building a park was raised after a trip to the United States, when Mr. Le Anh Tuan – foundation of the company had the opportunity to visit the annual competition for the world’s master sand sculptors took place at Florida Beach, the United States in 2015. At once, he linked to the natural resources of Vietnam: beautiful beaches along the country, abundant sand and water, “why we don’t use these available materials to organize sand contests and exhibitions, create more special tourism products for our homeland?”. His idea received the approval of friends and associates, and they together embarked in the plan.
After a long time spending in researching and having many field trips with foreign sculptors, the sculptors were very satisfied with sand in Binh Thuan: unique red color and appropriate texture. The quality of sand convinced all sculptors come here to contribute their talent.
The first sand sculpture event was hold in Tien Hai Village, Tien Thanh Commune, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province with the presence of two foreign sculptors: Mac David from Belgium and Leonardo Ugolini from Italy. We also invited teachers and students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts to joint the event to learn and share the experience of sculpture. The sculpture about King Kong, with meticulous and sharp details, attracted hundreds of visitors to enjoy.
The interest of tourists for sculpture art had created the belief and encouragement for Viet Sand Art Co., Ltd. to invest in building the first sand sculpture park in Vietnam.
The construction of the park’s infrastructure was begun from May 2016. In December 2016, the basic infrastructure was completed to welcome the group of 14 foreign sculptors to sculpt the works in the park. The theme is “International and Vietnamese Tales and Myths.”. 14 sculptors from 12 countries around the world worked together for nearly a month and completed 20 statues simulated from famous fairy tales and fables.
Viet Sand Art Team is sincerely thankful for your support! We hope that you will have a nice time with us!
